We take pride in our origins and the value we add to the Falkland Islands environment and economy, through science and innovation
To provide independent and objective consultancy services to local, regional and international clients through the innovative application of environmental sciences and knowledge
Objectivity, excellence, innovation and collaboration in all we do
Integrity, inclusivity & responsibility
Accountability to ourselves and each other
To strengthen and grow an outstanding Falkland Islands organisation by applying rigour and scientific method to everything we do, and to share our knowledge through our global partners
We operate a Board of Directors with majority independence from the SAERI Board of Trustees, ensuring that all we do enhances the delivery of the charitable objects of the Charity through governance excellence.
Dr Paul Brickle
More than 20 years in the Falkland Islands, Paul is also Executive Director and Trustee of SAERI. As part of the Task and Finish group when part of The Falkland Islands Government Fisheries Department, Paul successfully conceptualised, developed and implemented the response to the need for science based in and out of the Islands - and this resulted in SAERI. Established as an independent Charity in 2017, Paul has taken SAERI and subsequently as a Director of SFL, to be leading forces in science in the South Atlantic and beyond.
Dr Paul Brewin
Paul joined the Board in 2019 as an experienced marine ecologist and consultant, based in the Falkland Islands. He is also a Director of Shallow Marine Surveys Group (SMSG) and a Trustee of Falklands Conservation. His expertise helps deliver sound proposals with excellent value.
Teresa is based in the UK and specialises in the formation and running of charity SPVs. She was instrumental in the establishment of SAERI as a Charity as well as SFL as its trading subsidiary. Teresa provides Company Secretarial services to both the SFL Board of Directors and the SAERI Board of Trustees, as well as being the Deputy Director - Business & Programmes of SAERI. Her governance and business expertise ensures we achieve unqualified audits in both organisations, and that policies and structures are in place to keep the organisations world-class.
Mark is a solicitor based in the Falkland Islands and was a founding Director of SFL. He is owner of Falklands Legal in Stanley. Mark brings grounded external eyes to the Boardroom table, and with his background is able to advise SFL independently of SAERI and work with the SAERI Chairman to achieve the best outcomes for both organisations.
